Background |
|
|
|
One of SEDC's key roles is to complement the State in the development of human resources in strategic industries. In line with this, SEDC had implemented various training programmes to assist unemployed graduates and school leavers gain exposure and work experience. Among these programmes were Extension Service Officer Training Scheme (ESOTS), Graduate Training Programme (GTP) and BCIC Tourism Internship Programme (BTIP).
SEDC continues its role in providing on-the-job training for unemployed graduates by implementing SEDC Internship Programme (SIP). |

Objectives |
|
|
- To provide interns with practical knowledge and working experience
- To equip interns with practical management skills for a successful career in selected sectors
|
|
|
|
Concepts of SIP |
- SIP is open to Diploma and Degree holders who are currently unemployed.
- Successful applicants will be placed as interns in the Corporation and its selected subsidiaries for a 6-month period. During this time, the interns will undergo on-the-job apprenticeship training to gain exposure and learn the basic skills of the daily operations of the Corporation and its various subsidiaries. The interns will also be undergoing personal development training as part of the Programme's orientation activities.
