| 'SeDidik English Day' programme on March 7 |

BINTULU: SeDidik English Day programme will be held on March 7 (Sunday) at bangunan Yayasan SeDidik Mutiara and Kampung Jepak community hall here from 8pm to 1pm. This programme is part of several activities to promote greater awareness and interest among the children to read more books particularly in English, said the programme spokeperson who is also SeDidik Perdana supervisor Maraini Jaafar. She said the target group for the programme would be the children in SeDidik centres, former SeDidik pupils, parents, educators and local communities from two SeDidik centres namely SeDidik Mutiara Jepak and SeDidik Perdana Bangunan Martabat. Among the activities lined up are centre-based activities such as making big books, story telling and reading and also using teachers and parents to make teaching aids, she said. Other activities include presentations of circle time activities, mulong preview, budding readers' workshop and various exhibitions of books by the government agencies and private sectors, said Maraini. Sarawak Economic Development Corporation chairman Datuk Talib Zulpilip is expected to be present to officiate at the opening ceremony.
