SeDidik Sdh Bhd was established in the 1990s to spearhead the development of a human resource development programme known as "Parent Child Early Childhood Program (PCEC)". This programme was aimed at the rural and suburban communities to develop the human resource potential and ultimately upgrade their standard of living through quality education.

The programme has transformed not only the children but also their parents through its unique concept of learning. SeDidik's concept includes partnering of parents with their children to create a deeper understanding and insight into individual children's learning styles and developmental progress. Through the concept, SeDidik can produce a positive learning experience for every child in this project.

The success of SeDidik's programme lies in the philosophy that every individual is born with great potentials in life, which given the right guidance and equal opportunity in a conducive learning environment, any child will develop into an excellent, high spirited and dynamic individual. Through this philosophy, SeDidik has been able to sustain its Family and Child Development programme especially in the rural as well as urban areas in the State. With over 18 years of experience in Child and Family Development, SeDidik now aspires to be the premier early childhood programme provider in Sarawak and contributing its part towards Sarawak's human capital development.

With the rapid development of new townships and residential areas in the main cities and towns of the State vis-a-vis the growing population of young working parents, the demand for quality day care pre-school services corresponds accordingly. Tapping into this opportunity, SeDidik hopes to expand alongside this development trend. Furthermore, parents today are increasingly getting more knowledgeable about early childhood programme and this means SeDidik has to consistently improve its curriculum and teaching method in order to meet the higher expectations of its customers.

Alongside all these new trends and impetus for growth, SeDidik's main objectives will remain as an essential force to educate children under its tutelage to be imbued with better knowledge, attitude, value and skills for life and upgrading the necessary parenting skills for a quality family development.

By highlighting these vital aspects at an early age comprising of physical, cognitive and creative development, SeDidik's early learning module represents a comprehensive programme using integrated national pre-school curriculum via ICT tools.

With the existing 58 pre-school centres established throughout Sarawak and a strong 206 multi-skilled and well trained staff, SeDidik's role has been recognised as the leading early childhood education provider in the State.

To sustain and strengthen its role, new development strategy needs to be drawn up and implemented in the next phase to strengthen this role.

To enhance its role and services, SeDidik has identified the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Balanced Scorecard System (BSC), for efficiency, quality and new performance standard and transformation. Through this KPI and BSC, SeDidik is expected to be able to reposition itself and monitor its performance better.

Apart from KPIs and BSC, the introduction and implementation of another quality enhancement programme, the 5S programme, will enable SeDidik to ensure quality work place environment. This programme will not only support its organisational operation but it will also provide assurance to its customers of SeDidik's commitment to quality.

As an organisation under SEDC Sarawak, SeDidik will continuously strive to strengthen its capability and capacity in the face of future challenges and achieve its goal and be the premier preschool education provider in the State.
