SEDIDIK - Child and Family Development


SeDidik SEDC was established in 1990 to undertake the educational, social and community projects for State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) of Sarawak. Conceived under the Corporation's Community Development Division, the organisation is a unique provider of comprehensive human development services for children and families in the State of Sarawak, with focus on early childhood education. SeDidik also provides special programmes that enhance children’s learning abilities. These programmes includes Kindergym, Kindergardening, Digital Library, Music Class and Kelas Bimbingan Iqra’ & Al Quran. The establishment of SeDidik was originally inspired by Yang Amat Berhormat Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, The Chief Minister of Sarawak who realized the significant of an early childhood education to the development of human capital in Sarawak.

As at 31 October 2017, SeDidik operates 78 centres serving 1,805 children from 1,630 families. Out of these, 64 are rural centres and 14 are urban centres.
