SeDidik Sdn Bhd

SeDidik Sdn Bhd is a non-profit organisation with its headquarters in Kuching.  Its core business is to manage the Child and Family Development Programme for Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

Conceived under the Corporation's Community Development Division,  the organisation is a unique provider of comprehensive human development services to children and families in the State of Sarawak.

The programmes are operated in 61 centres, in urban and rural areas, serving 1,999 children from 1,600 families as of January 2008.

We are committed to promote the Child & Family Development Programme through quality:

i) Early Childhood Education

ii) Parent and Community Development Programme
 

SeDidik is governed by a 6-member Board of Directors. It employs over 197 staff, who are trained and having vast experience in human resource development and education.

SERVICES

Child & Family Development Programme

The programme was set up to act as a catalyst for the development of the child, family and community. It aims to develop communities of excellent individuals by providing young children with the opportunity to acquire basic skills, knowledge and attitude to develop their potential. This project works on the belief that children are born intelligent and that they have the right to be brought up to have the finest quality in life.

Curriculum

Primary attention is devoted to assure a holistic and high quality early childhood development through the programmes(required under the Ministry of Education National Pre-School Curriculum) as follows:

  1. Physical Development which also stresses on Health and Safety
  2. Social-Emotional Development 
  3. Language and Communication
  4. Spiritual and Moral Education 
  5. Cognitive Development
  6. Aesthetics and Creativity   
In addition, SeDidik also organizes other activities as follows : 
  1. Home Visits 
  2. Field Trips
  3. Convocation
  4. Family Day
  5. Sports Day


Value Enhancement Activities

Mother's Workshop

Covers an array of activities such as health and nutrition, handicraft classes and safety in the home.

Parenting Seminars

Enhance parent-child relationship by improving parenting competence to enable parents to take active roles in influencing their children's learning and development.  This is because SeDidik believes that parents are the first and primary educators of their children.

Parent-Facilitator Partnership
Fosters and improves learning climate and support system for the children by coordinating homes with Centres.

Motivation Seminars
Help participants particularly students discover special qualities they possess that give them the ability to move others and make them unique as leaders.

Academic Guidance Classes
Provide a supervised atmosphere where each child is given the opportunity to participate in activities and homework time.

Holiday Camps
Offer the participants an opportunity to live together in a safe, healthy, cheerful yet challenging outdoor surrounding.
