SARAWAK CONCRETE INDUSTRIES BERHAD Sarawak Concrete Industries Berhad ("SCIB") was incorporated in Malaysia on 10 December 1975 as a private limited company under the name of Hume Industries (Sarawak) Sendirian Berhad and its name was changed to Sarawak Concrete Industries Sdn Bhd on 3 November 1993. SCIB w as predominantly inactive until 1979 whtn it was used as a corporate vehicle by Perbadanan Pembangunan Ekonomi Sarawak and Hume Industries (Malaysia) Berhad under a joint venture agreement to set up a plant in Kuching, Sarawak for the manufacture of concrete products. In preparation for its listing on the Kuala Lumbur Stok Exchange Second Board, the Company was converted to a public company on 9 November 1993 an subsequently adopted its present name SCIB. SCIB was listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on 3 August 1994. The authorised capital of SCIB is RM25,000,000 comprising 25,000,000 ordinary shared of RM1.oo each of which 18,000,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each hace been issued and fully paid at 30 June 1994. SCIB is principally involved in the manufacture and sale of industrial products for the use in construction and infrastructure sectors such as culvert pipes, reinforced concrete products, spun piles, reinforced concrete square piles, prestressed concrete slabs and beams.
