FISHERIES
& AQUACULTURE DIVISION  The
fisheries and Aquaculture Division is responsible for handling all fisheries
related projects and activities of SEDC.
OBJECTIVE OF OUR DIVISION
The Fisheries & Aquaculture Division
will focus on five (5) key objectives:-
1. To help increase fish production in
the State;
2. To implement commercially viable fisheries
projects through smartpartnership with local or foreign partners;
3. To create business and employment opportunities
with special emphasis on the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs;
4. To increase foreign exchange earnings
for the State; and
5. To introduce high tech systems into
the aquaculture industry in Sarawak.
ACTIVITIES
- Implementation of fisheries project
which are relevant and beneficial to the overall development of fisheries
industry in Sarawak.
- Provide technical support to participants
of fisheries related projects under the Entrepreneur Development program
of SEDC.
- As partner in fisheries-related downstream
activities.
WHAT TO OFFER
- Land at the following locations have
been acquired and immediately available for aquaculture projects:-
1. 160-hectare land at Sempadi, Lundu
2. 40-hectare
land at Loba Pulau, Belawai
3. handed
over to admin (factory at Bintawa)
We are
looking for joint venture partners for the implementation of the following

PPES
AQUA (SANTUBONG) SDN BHD Incorporated
on 26 March 1986, PPES Aqua (Santubong) Sdn Bhd commenced its operation
in 1993. It
is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of SEDC. The aquaculture farm
located at Kuala Santubong, Kuching. The farm comprises of 54 grow-out
ponds and a hatchery facility. Annual production is about
300 metric tons. Expansion of the farm with another 13 ponds will
be completed by end of 2006.

160- ha. site has been approved for the project. SEDC is looking
