Aired on ITN that the monthly 5S Day is changed to the last Wednesday of the month instead of the last Friday of the month.

2-4/5 – Program Usahawan Muda (PUM) Convention 2007 held at Holiday Inn Kuching and Crowne Plaza Riverside Kuching. Some 100 students from 13 secondary schools took part in the convention.

7/5 – A resource presentation by Perinsuran (Brokar) Sdn Bhd for our Directors and CEOs held at Dewan Kenyalang.

Seventy-five students and 2 lecturers from PTPL College made a visit to SEDC to learn on our Tourism Activities.  They were briefed on the subject by Pn. Stephanie Guan.

A Farewell luncheon for Puan Lucy Choo held at Meisan Restaurant., Holiday Inn Kuching.  Lucy retired from the civil service after attaining the compulsory age of retirement at 56.

8 - 9/5 – Sarawak Car Care Centre Sdn Bhd quotation notice appeared in Eastern Times and Borneo Post.

9/5 – Sedidik sdn Bhd’s tender of its used vehicles aired on ITN.  Tender documents were to be taken from Legal Affairs Division.

Announced the winners of 5S Logo and Motto competition on ITN.  Encik Sa’adi Latip was the winner for the 5S Logo while Encik Nelson Kebing was the winner for the 5S Motto competitions.

10/5 –Our 5S Gotong-Royong was held at kuching Waterfront. It was officiated by our YB Datuk Chairman.

12/5 – Encik Rudy Ujang and Encik Anthony Michael Uchang from UNIMAS reported for their 2-month Practical training.  Rudy is attached to EDD while Anthony is at Corporate Marketing Division.

13/5 – SEDC-Get-Together hosted by EDD held at Dewan Kenyalang with the theme, “Ibu, Engkaulah Ratu Hatiku.”

K-Clinic session on, “Program Anak Angkat untuk anak-anak Yatim di bawah jagaan Lembaga & Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Sarawak” (PERYATIM) held at Dewan Kenyalang.

14/5 – Announcement of the sale of Corporate Gawai cards on ITN.

15/5 – A special celebration to pay tribute to SEDC mothers in conjunction with Mother’s day was held at Dewan Kenyalang.

16/5 – “Media Appreciation Nite 2008” with the theme “Rock N Roll – The Wonder of You” held at Poolside Holiday Inn Kuching.

18-19/5 – SEDC advertised on the availability of its shop lots for rent at Kilang Teres, Medan Niaga Jepak and Lawas, Pusat Rehat Bekenu and Bangunan Phoenix in Eastern Times and Borneo Post.

20/5 – Cik Hjh. Saniah Bt. Rambli of Legal Affairs Division walked the floors to bid farewell to staff.  She took her remaining leave before she retired on June 10 2008 at the age of 56.

20/5 – Officers from Takaful Malaysia, Sarawak Branch commenced their 2-day products promotion in SEDC.

Tender notice for, “Cadangan Pembinaan Perniagaan Permaidani Kampung” (Tebingan Boyan-Gersik-Sourabaya), Kuching appeared in Borneo Post and Eastern Times.

22/5 – Group Blood donation organized by PEDAS held at Dewan Kenyalang.  Thirty pints of blood was collected from donors that morning.

23/5 – Officers from Standard Chartered Bank opened a counter at 7th Floor to promote their products.

24/5 - A 1-day programme entitled, “Keseronokan Bekerja” held at Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel for our drivers, office attendants and cleaners.

24 & 25/5 – PPES Ternak Holdings Sdn bhd advertised for Swiflets Farming Development in Eastern Times and Borneo Post respectively.

26/5 - Our 44th Management Executive Meeting held at Bilik Nuri.  Six Decision and 2 Information Papers were tabled at the meeting.

27/5 – SEDC organized a “Majlis Sekalung Budi” with the theme, “Ke Arah Tebingan Kuching Yang Selamat” at Crowne Plaza Riverside hotel.

27/5 – Freezing of salary increment for staff who do not pass their examinations for the third time aired on ITN.  This was in accordance to a minute by Director of HRM ref: H(1)/t/041(Jld.6)/(72) dated May 23.

The corporation advertised for the Post of Legal Officer, Grade L41 in Borneo Post.

Our YB Datuk Chairman handed-over staff collection to 7 of our junior staff who celebrated the Gawai festival.

28/5 – Our YB Datuk Chairman officiated at the opening of the Sarawak Kuih Lapis Entrepreneur Workshop under the SDSI programme at Jalan P. Ramlee.  The event was organized by EDD.

30/5 – Our 134th CCM Meeting held at Bilik Nuri.  The meeting among others, approved/noted a total of 4 Decision papers.
