1/4 – Mr. Venial Then from Inland Revenue Board presented a briefing on Income Tax e-filing to staff members at Dewan Kenyalang.

1 - 2/4 – A 2-day seminar on Halal Food Standard Realization (HAFSTAR) MS 1500:2004 was held at Asajaya, Holiday Inn Kuching.  It was organized by EDD.

2/4 – A final review on SEDC Financial Regulation meeting was held at 18th Floor, Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel.  It was attended by our General Manager, Directors and Financial Managers.

3/4 – A 37-member students delegation from Sarawak Skills Development Centre visited SEDC.  Their visit was to learn more on our computer systems network and information system.

A handing-over of Medan Niaga Sematan project from the contractor to SEDC was held at the project site.  A bunch of keys was handed to Puan Hajah Siti Hajar by Mr. Robertson Mawa, M.D. Starpoint Properties.  The project comprises of 15 units of food stalls and 22 units of stalls for selling souvenirs.

4/4 – Keys of Medan Niaga Sematan stalls handed-over to tenants by Encik Frederick Robert Rangga.

“SEDC-Get-Together” with the theme, “Lite and Ezzy” hosted by our 11th Floor colleagues held at Dewan Kenyalang.

6/4 – An article on Damai Beach Resort appeared in Sunday Eastern Times.

7/4 – Continuation of Financial Review of SEDC Financial Regulations meeting held at 18th Floor, Crowne Plaza Hotel.  It was attended by our Directors and Financial Managers.

The “new” Damai Beach Resort article appeared in Eastern Times.

Dinner to announce “AKPAN” result at Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel.  SEDC was accorded with a consolation prize.  Land & Survey Department emerged as the winner.

8 - 9/4 – Sarawak Car Care Centre Sdn Bhd quotation notice appeared in Eastern Times and Borneo Post.

9/4 – The commencement of our 5S Logo and Motto competition aired on Info-Telly News (ITN).

A Joint-Venture Agreement between SEDC and Gloright Sdn Bhd signed in RH Hotel in Sibu.  The JV was for the development of Bruan Aquaculture Project in Matu Dato.  Our YB Datuk Chairman signed for SEDC while Mr. Ling Chee Kiew signed for his company.

Briefing to staff on CUEPACS insurance coverage by Mr. Chong Kok Ann from Great Eastern Assurance, Kuala Lumpur at Dewan Kenyalang.

10/4 – SEDC’s 5S Re-certification Audit by Encik Ismail Mohd Nor, MPC KL and Encik Megat Amirul Saiful Nizam from MPC Sarawak.

Nineteen of our Scale C & D ladies attended a 2-day programme entitled “The Secretaries and Administrative Professionals Convention”.  The first day was spent at SCV while the second day was at Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel. The event was organized by PPES Resort and TNDP.

11/4 – 138th SEDC Pre-Board Meeting with our YB Datuk Chairman was held at Bilik Nuri.  It was attended by our directors.

Notice of Tender inviting UPK Bumiputera registered contractors under Head II or I Class C, D & E for “Proposed 8 Units of New Kiosk at KWF, Kuching” appeared in Borneo Post and Eastern Times.

14/4 – Opening meeting of MS ISO Audit 2008 held at Dewan Kenyalang chaired by DGM, Tuan Haji Wan Liz Ozman Wan Omar.  The meeting also introduced the auditors to the auditees.

A 5-day audit on MS ISO procedures commenced.

18/4 – Closing of 5S Audit chaired by DGM, Haji Wan Liz Ozman Wan Omar at Dewan Kenyalang.  The findings was that there were only 2 non-compliance and a few observations.

PEDAS’s proposed educational trip to Trengganu aired on ITN.

Announced on ITN of the postponement of Gotong-Royong on April 26th but instead to be held on May 10th.

19-20/4 – “Fiesta Keusahawanan” held at Dewan Niaga Sematan.

21/4 – Our YB Datuk Chairman said that SEDC resorts, once operated mainly by international franchise, are now reverting back to local management, appeared in Borneo Post and Eastern Times.

Report on Medan Niaga Sematan’s entrepreneurs’ Carnival appeared in Borneo Post  and Eastern Times.

Director of Corporate Relations Division, Encik Gabriel Blassan handed-over staff collection to Encik Reduan Su’ut.

22/4 – Our 43rd Management Executive Meeting (MEM) was held at Bilik Rajawali.  The meeting confirmed minutes of last meeting, deliberated on matters arising therefrom and approved 1 Decision Paper.

24/4 – Closing of submission for 5S Logo and Motto competition announced on ITN.  76 entries were received for Motto and 28 for Logo.

A Franchise Awareness Talk held at Dewan Kenyalang for 34 Franchisepreneurs from Kuching area.  Facilitator was Encik Mazlan Ibrahim from Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNB).  Similar presentation was held in Miri on May 25th.

25/4 – A K-clinic on, “Kawalan Rekod Kualiti & Pembelian Terus” was held for our C & D scale officers at Dewan Kenyalang.  Talk was presented by Encik Mohd Aziz Ibrahim and Tuan Haji Saferi Ayub.

25 – 27/4 – Pesta Kaul was held in Mukah.  SEDC took charge in organizing the Handicraft Competition during the event.  Our YB Datuk Chairman handed-over the prizes to the winners of the handicraft competition on Saturday, April 26th at our SEDC booth.

28/4 – A briefing by consultant, NBL Architect and team members for Kampong Boyan-Gersik-Sourabaya project was held at Dewan Kenyalang.  The briefing was for YB Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi, 4 Penghulus and 1- Committee Members.

29/4 – 138th SEDC Board Meeting was held at Bilik Nuri.  The meeting confirmed the minutes of last meeting, considered matters arising therefrom, deliberated on 3 Decision Papers and noted 3 Information Papers.

Post Board Meeting chaired by our YB Datuk Chairman and attended by our directors was held at Bilik Nuri.

30/4 – Our 133th CCM was held at Bilik Nuri.  Among the agenda were; confirmed the minutes of last meeting, deliberated matters arising therefrom, compilation on “How To Make SEDC As A Premier Organization”, approved or noted 1 Decision paper and 1 Information paper.  The meeting was chaired by YB Datuk Chairman.
