FEBRUARY 2008

1/2 – First K-Clinic for 2008, on Kaizen Practices was held at Dewan Kenyalang. It was presented by Encik Mohd Norjayadi from NPC and organized by Quality Management Division.

Tender for “Pembangunan Kemudahan Pelancongan Di Waterfront, Kuching, Fasa 2 Sarawak: Pakej 1 – Pembaharuan dan Pemuliharaan Waterfront Kuching Fasa 1” advertised in Borneo Post.

Two new staff joined the SEDC family. They are Encik Mohamad Fadlie bin Ramli attached to PIBU Lawas and Cik Kartini bt Osman Sukarno, PIBU Miri.

Our Accountant, Puan Cecelia Ann Sagunam left the service of the Corporation upon the expiry of her contract.

2-3/2 – SEDC took part in a 2-day Development Exhibition at Bekenu. It was organized by PBB and event was also aired in Info-Telly news (ITN).

4/2 – ICTD announced that SEDC email users were now given 10 mega bite quota mailbox instead of just 5 previously. It was aired on ITN as well.

Koperasi Koppes invited members to submit their 2007 children’s result for “Hadiah Galakan Pendidikan Koppes” aired on ITN.

7/2 – Our General Manager, Puan Laura Lee and her family held their Chinese Lunar New Year Open-House at their residence at Jalan Hup Kee, Kuching.

10/2– Damai Golf and Country club advertised vacancies to fill the post of Golf Operation Manager, Sales and Marketing Executive, Course Marshall, Starter Attendant and Security Personnel appeared in Borneo Post.

Post of Accounts Clerk vacancy posted by Sedidik appeared in Borneo Post.

11/2 – ICTD to organize a 2-hour in-house training on Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla thunderbird for staff in March 2008 aired on ITN.

Staff members informed through ITN that the aerobic exercise sessions on Tuesday are now changed to Thursday of the week.

12/2 – Sara Resorts Sdn Bhd inviting tenders from UPK Bumiputera registered contractors to bid for the “Proposed Reconstruction works to the left wing of Dewan Legenda at Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching” advertised in Borneo Post.

13/2 – Koperasi Koppes Manager, Encik Abang Mohamad presented a talk on “Skim Pembiayaan Kredit Syariah” to members at Dewan Kenyalang.

14/2 – SEDC Get-Together hosted by CRD and CMD with the theme “Be My Valentine” at Dewan Kenyalang.

15/2 – Advertisement for the post of Accountant Grade W41 in SEDC out in Eastern Times.

18/2 – Advertisement on Tender for “The Proposed Replacement of Existing Roofing And Other Associated Works to Holiday Inn Damai Extension At Bukit Tekajong, Santubong, Kuching”, advertised in Eastern Times and Borneo Post.

19/2 – YB Datuk Chairman presented his Presidential Address to staff at Sarawak Chamber 1, Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel.

21/2 – Group Blood donation organized by PEDAS held at Dewan Kenyalang. A total of 42 pints of blood were donated from 74 registered would be donors.

PEDAS Committee members held a meeting to discuss on a fishing competition outing under the “Saturday togetherness” programme. Meeting chaired by Encik Hanni Bustamam.

Forty-First (41st) Management Executive Meeting (MEM) held at Bilik Nuri. Six Decision papers were tabled at the meeting chaired by our General manager, Puan Laura Lee.

25/2 – Continuation of staff photo-taking session for SEDC web held at ICT training room aired on ITN.

State Secretary issued a circular to all departments stating that no staff was allowed to take leave during the election.

Director HRM, Encik Paul Ningkan’s minute to all directors and OIC of Regional Offices that they are to submit the assessment report and recommendation of contract officers under them, six months prior to the expiry of their contract with SEDC aired on ITN.

25/2 - Tender notice on “Cadangan Projek Peningkatan Kemudahan Pelancongan Di Kampung Budaya Sarawak” published in Borneo Post.

Info-Telly newly appointed news crew attended a meeting on their duties/responsibilities chaired by director CRD, Encik Gabriel Blassan at Dewan Kenyalang.

26/2 – Quality Council Meeting chaired by General Manager, Puan Laura Lee held at Bilik Nuri. The meeting received report on programmes for 2007, approved SEDC Quality Plan for 2008 and approved proposed revised membership of Quality Committees. It was attended by our divisional directors.

27/2 – Briefing for OIC of Assets from all divisions held at Dewan Kenyalang chaired by Encik Abdul Hanni Bustamam.

28/2 – Our 131th Chairman’s Committee Meeting (CCM) held at Bilik Nuri chaired by our YB Datuk Chairman. The meeting approved/noted 1 Information and 1 Decision papers and noted matters arising reached at the 40th MEM meeting.
