Four UiTM students reported for their 3-month practical training. They were Cik Mariana Mohd Ibrahim, Dorothy Ak Bakong, Hadijah binti Seruji and Inja Margaret Bucking. PEDAS members whose children scored 3As and above in their PMR exams in 2007 told to submit their children’s result for PEDAS educational award aired on ITN. 8/1 – Director of HRM, Encik Paul Ningkan issued a Staff Circular that Management Approval must be sought before conducting any Press Conference and/or providing any Press Release. 9/1 – Motivational talk on, “ Hijrah Menjana Kecemerlangan” organised in conjunction with Maal Hijrah 1429H held at Dewan Kenyalang. 14/1 – Briefing on Accountability Index by Jabatan Audit Negara’s Director, Puan Ong Swee Leng to SEDC management Staff and CEOs of our subsidiary companies. Event was organised by CFD and held at Dewan Kenyalang. Two students from Politeknik Kuching, Cik Aizza Nurfaidah and Nur Amirah reported for their 5-month practical training stint. Cik Amiliadia Samsudin, from Politeknik Mukah also reported for her training at our Mukah Regional Office. 15/1 – A 12-member delegation from DBKU visited SEDC to learn more on our 5S programmes and initiatives/implementation. A special CCM held at Sweet Ring Meeting Room, Damai Golf and Country Club. Eighteen of our staff redeployed in staff reshuffle. 16/1 – ICTD advised staff members that if they require assistance for the division to transfer their PC’s contents they are to inform via email to nickjeff@sedc.com.my aired to ITN. Director CRD, Encik Gabriel Blassan handed-over staff collection to Tuan Haji Yahya Mat. 17/1 – Promotion and Sale of our shop lots and building properties at Bako and Kota Samarahan aired on ITN (Airing is on-going). RHB counter opened at 7th Floor lobby to promote its ASB loans. Director of CRD, Encik Gabriel Blassan handed-over staff collection to Encik Lawrence Injan, Gara Budin and Puan Rohani Seri in his office. 20/1 – YB Datuk Chairman together with some staff of the Corporation were among those participating at the MBKS Tree Planting 2008 event at Jalan Muara Tabuan. 21/1 – Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel held its 15th Anniversary (Crystal) staff dinner. 22/1 – Our 137th Board of Directors Meeting held at Bilik Nuri. 7th PEDAS Committee meeting held at Bilik Mawar. All staff to declare their assets as required by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia. Asset form ‘A’ was to be returned to HRM by January 24,2008 aired on ITN. 24/1 – Director of HRM, Encik Paul Ningkan issued a Staff Circular that al sick leave certificates were to be forwarded to HRM through their respective divisional Director. News were aired on ITN for a couple of times. PTK exams for this year are now open for registration, aired on ITN. Aired on ITN that SEDC has an additional website address; www.sedc.my Thirty-six students and 2 lecturers from UiTM, Perak came for a study tour of our Kuching Waterfront (KWF). They were interested to know on how KWF contributes as a tourist attraction in Kuching. 24/1 – Koperasi KOPPES informed members that they were now able to get a loan to pay for their car insurance and road tax aired on ITN. 27/1 – Holiday Inn Kuching held its Annual Staff Party at Dewan Asajaya. 29/1 – A 1-Day workshop, “Bengkel Keusahawanan Di-Bawah Program Pembangunan Kontraktor Berdikari (PPKB)” for 40 of our registered contractors was held at Parkcity Every Hotel, Bintulu. It was officiated by our YB Datuk Chairman. 30/1 – First SEDC-Get-Together hosted by HRM. PEDAS also presented Students’ Educational Award to 13 students who scored well in their PMR exam last year at the event. 31/1 – 130th Chairman’s Committee Meeting (CCM) held at Bilik Nuri. Presentation of festive staff collection to Encik Bong See Sen by our YB Datuk Chairman at Bilik Nuri. 31/1 – 1/2 -Interview of candidates to fill a post at PIBU Kuching and Kota Samarahan. The 2-day interview for 36 short listed candidates was conducted by Puan Marilyn Biyor and Cik Khartini Johari.
