December 2007

 

1 - 2/12 - SEDC took part in a "Career Expo" held at SUPP Headquarters.  The annual event, which started in 2005, was organised by SUPP Youth Central.

 

3/12 - "Hari Integriti PPES 2007" held at Holiday Inn Kuching.  State Secretary, Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot, launched it.

 

YB Datuk Chairman presented "Love-In-A-Box" gifts to 27 children from the Salvation Army.  The function was held at Lower Ground, Sarawak Plaza.

 

Four of our Divisional Directors commenced their 7-day,"Kursus Kepimpinan dan Pengurusan Tinggi Penilaian Tahap Kecekapan (PTK) Gred 48 TKH".  The course was held at Centre for Modern Management.

 

4/12 - The 39th Management Executive Meeting (MEM) was held at Bilik Nuri.  Two Decision and 1 Information Papers were tabled at the meeting chaired by our General Manager, Puan Laura Lee.

 

Fifteen of our staff sat for their PTK exams at Dewan Serbaguna, Universiti Malaysia, Sarawak, Kota Samarahan.

 

Encik Kjeldson B. Yusuf @ George reported  for  his  3 and a half  months practical training stint.  He is attached to Engineering and Technical Services Division.

 

Our YB Datuk Chairman advised proprietors of food outlets not to neglect the hygiene and cleanliness of their premises when he launched the "Premises Grading System 2007" held at Parkcity Shopping Mall in Bintulu.

 

5/12 - A fire drill was conducted in Menara SEDC.  Participants were staff of Menara SEDC, Sara Urusharta and Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, Sarawak.

 

6/12 - 7/12 - Advertisements for Tender of 4 units of vehicles - Cherokee Jeep - QCA 8377, Volvo 240 GLA - QK 3400, Volvo 240 GLM -  KT 4154 and Proton Saga - 5727 appeared in Borneo Post and Eastern Times.

 

7/12  -  Thirty members from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur made a study tour to Sedidik Sdn Bhd.  They also visited one of its schools at Jalan Ong Kuan Hin.

 

10/12 - Sara Resorts Sdn Bhd welcomed its new Corporate Services Manager/Company Secretary - Cik Rose Farida Johnson.

 

Announced in Info-Telly News (ITN) that Corporate Christmas Cards were available for sale to staff members at RM1.50 per card.

 

Info-Telly News desk received and relayed an appreciation note from Puan Anieta Pungga.  She thanked the SEDC Management and staff for their assistance in one way or another during her recent bereavement.

 

Thirt--third (33rd) SEDC Board Audit Committee (BAC) Meeting held at Bilik Nuri.  The meeting was chaired by YBhg Datuk Ismail.

 

11/12 -  SEDC Get Together hosted by PEDAS held at Dewan Kenyalang.  Sixteen PEDAS members' children, who scored 3As and above, at their UPSR exam last year, received the PEDAS Educational Award at the function.

 

12/12 - More than 60 entrepreneurs attended a 2-day course on "Industri Ternakan Burung Walet Emas" at Dewan Kenyalang.  The event was organised by EDD.

 

13/12 - A Special Chairman Committee Meeting chaired by our YB Datuk Chairman held at Bilik Nuri.

 

Eighteen of our ladies were selected to go on "SEDC Ladies Day Out" trip.  The trip took them to Damai Golf, Holiday inn Resort Damai Beach and Sarawak Cultural Village.  The outing served as a token of appreciation for secretaries, personnel assistants and administrative staff.

 

Aired on ITN that the issuing of Purchase Order was to close on 15 December 2007.

15/12 - YB Datuk Chairman launched "Pesta Gerenti Riuh Jepak 2007" at Medan Niaga Jepak, Bintulu.  The 2-day event featured games, sports, exhibitions, cooking competition and coloring competition for children.

 

 

At the event, our YB Datuk Chairman also presented mock key to 4 successful applications for SEDC’s pilot project, "Shop On Wheels".

 

17/12 - YB Datuk Chairman was featured on Sunday Times in the Opinion Section by Tengku Abdul Aziz on his success in putting integrity at the very center of SEDC.

 

18/12 - Our Divisional Directors and OICs of Regional Offices were reminded the staff LNPT duly completed forms 2007 for staff under their charge be submitted to HRM by 16/1/2008.  The reminder was aired for several days on ITN.

 

Fourth segment on computer virus entitled, "How do virus spread" aired on ITN for staff awareness.

 

27/12 - Our General Manager, Puan Laura Lee handed-over "Buku Akaun Simpanan Giro BSN" to 11 children of our staff who had lost either one of their parents.  The simple ceremony was held at Bilik Rajawali.

 

Fifty SEDC registered contractors attended a 1-day workshop entitled, "Bengkel Keusahawanan Di Bawah Program Pembangunan Kontraktor Berdikari" (PPKB) at Dewan Kenyalang.  Seven working papers by various government agencies were presented at the workshop, which was organised by our Entrepreneur Development Division.
